I am currently sitting in a cute bakery in Miraflores, attempting to do my homework but clearly failing due to the wifi capabilities in here. This place is called Sweet Garden and it was introduced to me by my friend Alix last semester before she returned to the U.S. to start grad school. This morning I had a meeting with my program coordinator Marion about volunteering so I brought all my work so that I could stay in Miraflores to study afterward because it has much better cafés and such than the area where I live. Recap of the week: last weekend I did not do much that I can recall - I hung out with my friend Jazmin on Friday at the University after checking out two classes that I have decided not to take in order to avoid having class on Fridays. Saturday I ran some errands in the morning and attempted to be productive in the afternoon since I had a ton of reading to do for my classes. Then I went to my small group for an hours which was really great - we are talking about prayer - and afterward I trekked on over to my friend Laura's house to have a study party. We actually met in Parque Kennedy and walked to her house, stopping at the bubble tea store on the way to get some tastyness to inspire our reading. Sunday I spent almost the entire day reading and freaking out about how much I had to do, with the exception of a couple hours that I dedicated to skyping with my mom and taking a walk. Ugh what a looooong day. Monday I had registration in the morning, which typical to Peruvian style is not the best organized system ever. All of the 300some international students have to register in person on the same day. Laura woke up ridiculously early and made it to the university before it was even open in order to be the first one to register. I got there shortly before 7 and ended up being fourth in line. Needless to say, I got into all the classes I wanted, or that I thought I wanted. Later in the week I decided that I really didn't want to take the politics class I signed up for because it was stressing me out too much. Instead I am going to take Taller de Creatividad Musical (Musical Creativity workshop) which is taught by the same professor I had last semester for Music Appreciation. Even though I don't really need this credit, I wanted to take four classes so by dropping the politics class I had to substitute something and there weren't any other credits that I needed that I could get here, so I went for an elective. We'll see how it goes. I've already missed the first two classes, but since I know the prof I don't think it will be a problem to catch up...I hope. Last night I went over to Laura's house to have a movie night with some girls from our program. There were five of us: Laura, Abby, Amelia, Audrey and me. We watched Did You Hear About the Morgans, although we didn't end up finishing it in order to go home at a safe hours - really I can't say I was too disappointed to stop in the middle because the movie was not high enough entertainment value to make up for the low quality. I had a really great time hanging out with my friends though!!!

Abby and me on the Mirabus tour
One section of Parque Kennedy - quite beautiful at this time of year!
The awesome fountain at Parque de Las Aguas - I didn't go in it this time around on the Mirabus tour and it was definitely more comfortable to stay dry but also not as adventurous!
