2 weeks to go...

Warning: this is gonna be a short one...but at least it's something.  I apologize that it has been such a ridiculously long time since I have written but I have been having a little difficulty typing for the past week or so.  I'm not going to type out the whole story, but here's the summary:  on June 7th I slipped on the wet sidewalk and fell, a week later my elbow started hurting, and a week after that i found out I have tendinitis so i have to have my arm in a sling and take anti-inflammatory pills.   Generally I am fine...writing and typing are what hurt the most... and they are kinda necessary for school.  Thankfully I will be done soon, although I'm hoping to be better by the time I'm done anyway.
New experience of the day: my bus driver on the way home tonight decided to get up and hop out of the bus when we were stopped at a red light.  I think he poured water on his head.  I don't really know, but I have never seen the driver get out of the bus.  It was interesting.
This week is my last week of classes.  Actually tomorrow is my last day!  Woohoo!  Next week I have finals and wrap-up dinners with my program.  It's sort of hard to believe the semester is coming to an end.  I'll be home exactly two weeks from now!  Woah! This is causing an interesting mix of emotions.  One day I just want to go home, the next I start feeling like I can't believe I'm leaving this place where I've spent 9 months of my life.  And it's not like leaving home when I know I'll be back.  I have no idea if I will be back to Peru.  Of course I would like to come back to visit because I have made so many relationships, but I don't think I will ever be back for an extended period of time...though really like my friend Laura likes to say "solo Dios sabe" (only God knows).
How many of you are watching the world cup?  I'm guessing 0-1, haha.  No one really watches the world cup in the U.S. (ok that might be an exaggeration).  Here on the other hand, it is a super big deal.  EVERYONE watches and let me tell you the cafeterias on campus are packed every single day from 9-11 and 1:30 -3:30 in order to watch the games...TVs were recently installed in them before the world cup began.  It definitely makes going to class more fun because you're sitting there and then you hear cheering and screaming whenever there is a goal.  And when you leave class and walk by the cafeteria, everyone is staring at the TV...the excitement is contagious.  And of course the U.S. won today to pass on to the next round with England!  Go red, white and blue!  I didn't get to see this game cuz I had class, but I will definitely be watching saturday afternoon as they take on Ghana!
Alright this is already longer than I planned.  Gotta rest my arm.  I'll try to update again soon with a more robust posting, including some pics.  Until then!
