What? I still have a blog? Maybe I should write in it!

Wooooweeee.  It's hard to believe it's been nearly six months since I've written in my blog.  I've rather missed it.  There have been a number of times that I thought about writing here, but this semester was definitely the craziest of college.  Student teaching is EXHAUSTING!  And time-consuming. The first five weeks of the semester, I had two classes at Hope on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  I ended up really liking my senior seminar in the end because we shared out "worldview papers" with each other and it was fascinating to hear everyone share their story.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays I spent the whole day at Hudsonville High School in my student teaching placement.  Thankfully my wonderful cooperating teacher Lauren had me jump right in, and on my second day there I was already teaching lessons that she had planned.  I also had many visitors in the first five weeks, including my brother, my cousin Gretchen and our friend Michelle, and my dad and Diane.  It was glorious to have so many people visit!  Oh, but I forgot something that I should have mentioned at the very beginning - the trip back up to Hope at the end of Christmas break!  I had to go back several days early to take my teacher certification tests, so I drove up on Friday, Dec. 7, which as it turned out was an enormously snowy day!!! :-(  Worst driving conditions I've ever been in.  Half the time I could not see the road in front of me and was just praying that I would stay in my lane and not hit anything.  I got to school in about four hours and unpacked my stuff, then I had another half hour drive up to Calvin where I would be taking the tests the following day.  I was soooo sore by the time I got there from gripping the wheel so tight for so long.  But alas, it all turned out ok and I got to have pupusas while I was in Grand Rapids!  Pupusas are like the Salvadorian version of a quesadilla - they are stuffed corn tortillas typically filled with cheese and beans and occasionally meat or veggies. And now I have lost steam for the moment. It's been so long I don't think I can blog about everything is one post, so I think I will just post this for now and continue soon!
